About the Annual Building Workforce Partnerships Conference
Mass worker dislocations, record unemployment, and deep anxiety on Main Street ushered in the new decade. While Wall Street jobs seem secure, economists predict a longer-term “jobless recovery” for the rest of us. To head off the worst impacts of the Great Recession, we need bolder action than we’ve seen to date.
Building the Jobs Recovery explores a comprehensive jobs strategy that converges job creation, mitigating job-loss, and job training. The event also lifts up and evaluates the most promising recovery projects, policies, and practices from across the nation.
Sponsored by the California Labor Federation, the annual Building Workforce Partnerships event is ultimately about collaboration – only working together can labor, business, and government bridge the economic needs of working families and the challenge of sustainable economic growth.
Building Workforce Partnerships is about collaboration – only working together can labor, business, government, and communities bridge the economic needs of working families and the challenge of sustainable economic recovery and growth. This unique event draws together a diverse and national group of labor leaders, local and state policy makers, community advocates, environmentalists, educators, and job training and economic development professionals to debate the critical issues of the economy and the future of our society.
